Lower Fort Worden is an absolutely amazing time for adults, kids, and dogs alike. Battery Kinzie has several floors of WWI bunkers, which are amazing to run around in if you like a spooky time. And the surrounding grounds are wonderful, featuring the Port Townsend lighthouse, the Fort Worden campground, a beautiful dock to take in the views, a long, sandy beach, and on nice days, views of Mount Baker and the rest of the Cascades. It’s absolute perfection on a nice summer day.
